AlumniAlumni Opportunities

There are many advantages to being an alumnus/a of Mason Gross, including a variety of services that Rutgers offers.

In addition, Mason Gross needs your help as well. The Campaign for Rutgers has identified the following needs:

The arts are an integral part of our society and culture. In order for future generations to learn and gain a full appreciation of the arts, support is needed now. If Mason Gross is to move to the next level of excellence it must renovate and expand its facilities, continue to recruit the best students and faculty, and provide more auditioning opportunities. A contribution to Mason Gross is a gift to the future of the arts.

Attracting and Supporting the Best Students
Although Mason Gross has some of the most gifted faculty anywhere, it lags behind other colleges and universities in providing financial support to its best students. The school is seeking to increase scholarships and fellowship endowments, which are the hallmark of a mature arts school. This is the school's principal challenge and top priority.

Ensuring a Superior Academic Program
As a professional school of the arts, Mason Gross wants its students to enter the professional ranks upon graduation. In order to make that happen, students must have the appropriate opportunities to present their work to those who are hiring in their respective fields. Because of Rutgers' proximity to New York City, achieving this is possible with sufficient support.

Advancing the Quest for Knowledge
Small classes and extensive opportunities for one-on-one student/faculty interaction characterize Mason Gross programs. These programs are expensive, but they best prepare graduates to make a positive impact upon the world of the arts. Opportunities to establish or enhance current undergraduate and graduate programs exist throughout Mason Gross.

Recruiting and Retaining Top Faculty
In addition to continuing to recruit and retain renowned faculty, Mason Gross would like to bring in distinguished artists and scholars from around the world for semester-long residences. In addition to this, a visiting artists lecture series would provide students and the community with a broad variety of new perspectives on the arts.

Enhancing the Campus and Community Environment
Mason Gross Presents is a dynamic, year-round arts festival. Support would enable the expansion of the festival by including films, lectures, interactive discussions, and readings that would appeal to a diverse audience. Enhancing the art galleries will increase the visibility of Rutgers and showcase the school as an even greater contributor to the arts.
