Paulette Sears
Concentration(s): Modern dance, Labanotation, Laban Movement Studies

Paulette Sears has created over fifty dances during her professional career. Her work has been produced at Joyce Soho, Cunningham Studio, Symphony Space, P.S. 122, Eden's Expressway, and the Nikolais-Louis Choreospace.

She has been recognized at regional American College Dance Festivals, and been funded by The New Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of State with a Choreography Fellowship.

She has taught in Europe, and was twice invited to teach in Hungary. Her most recent international performance was given in Brazil. In addition to her university-based teaching, she has also taught at the Dance Notation Bureau, the Laban/Bartenieff Institute of Movement Studies, and the Omega Institute.

She has performed in works by Claire Porter as part of the 40Up Project at St. Mark's Church and at Joyce Soho. She was invited to perform in the dancenow Festival, and was also a community performer with Mikhail Baryshnikov's White Oak Dance Project.

She holds an undergraduate degree in English from Vassar College, a graduate degree in dance from Mills College, and a certificate in Laban Movement Studies from the Laban/Bartenieff Institute of Movement Studies. She also has extensive experience in movement re-education and Pilates based training.
