Mason Gross Presents, a year-round performing arts
series, “marks the evolution of SummerFest into a year-round
series of events that enables us to combine the educational and
community outreach missions of the Mason Gross School of the Arts,”
said George B. Stauffer, the school’s dean. The series features
performances in theater, music and dance along with visual arts
exhibitions that enhance the educational experience of students,
while also bringing quality programs to the community. The Bettenbender
Plaza is an outdoor venue for warm-weather Mason Gross Presents
events located outside of the Nicholas Music Center.

In Suspension
In Suspension, an exhibition that cuts across the boundaries that separate painting, sculpture and installation features each piece suspended in some fashion, thereby challenging the traditional use of the gallery space and forcing a more direct confrontation with the viewer. The exhibition will be amplified by several historical examples, including a classic work by Alexander Calder, as well as text, photos and appropriated pieces that reference works by Marcel Duchamp and Man Ray which hung from their studio ceilings at the beginning of the twentieth century.
