Master of Music

The program of study leading to the Master of Music (M.M.) degree in performance is open to students with the equivalent of a B.M. or B.A. degree in music, and who demonstrate a level of performance skill and musicality necessary to the start of a professional career. Instruction is available in all orchestral and keyboard instruments, voice, and choral conducting.

The program is normally completed in two years. The required total of 36 credits includes four terms of performance study, four terms of ensemble or chamber music, two courses in graduate music theory, two courses in graduate music history, and additional electives, to be selected with the adviser's approval. One solo recital and a comprehensive written examination are also required for this degree.
