Mason Gross School of the Arts invites applications for the position of:

Music Theory

Duties: Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in music theory, music analysis and special topics in the area of the candidate's expertise; assist with graduate program, including thesis advisement and service on graduate committees; maintain an active research profile commensurate with standards of a research university.

Qualifications: Candidates must have a Ph.D. in music theory by the time of appointment, college teaching experience, a strong commitment to research and publication, and potential for national and international achievement as a scholar.

Rank: Assistant Professor of Music Theory (full-time, tenure track), salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.

The Department of Music is a member of NASM, and offers baccalaureate degree programs in performance, music education, and jazz studies. Graduate degrees are available in performance, jazz studies, and music education. Graduate degrees in theory/composition, music education, and musicology are offered in conjunction with the Graduate School in New Brunswick. There are ten performance ensembles and chamber music opportunities. The faculty consists of forty full-time lines and a number of part-time positions. Facilities include the Nicholas Music Center and Annex, Marryott Music Building, and Kirkpatrick and Voorhees Chapels.
