Theater Arts Bachelor of Fine Arts Acting

The Program

The BFA Acting Program is currently ranked among the top five undergraduate conservatory actor training programs in the country.  The program offers an integrated and challenging four-year course of study for serious students who aspire to careers as professional actors. Personal attention is assured, as classes are limited in size; a faculty of outstanding master teachers and professional artists tracks each student’s progress. Acting, voice, speech and movement constitute the program’s integrated core augmented by courses in clown, script analysis, performance ensemble, dialects and acting for the camera.

Rutgers’s BFA Acting Program features a one-of-a-kind training opportunity with the junior year spent at Rutgers Conservatory at Shakespeare’s Globe in London immersed in the study of classical acting.

The goal of the program is to graduate actors who are equipped for the rigourous demands of the contemporary stage, television, and film.
